When the Stakes Are Highest, the Bearing Must Be Clear.
I help executives and senior leaders operate with discipline, navigate with clarity, and communicate with authority — using a framework forged in two decades of high-stakes military service, aviation operations, and doctoral-level leadership research.

WHAT BRINGS EXECUTIVES & SENIOR LEADERS HERE?
"You can't see your own blind spots."
You're a high performer who has hit a ceiling you didn't see coming. The behaviors that got you here are exactly the ones holding you back — and no one around you is going to tell you that.
"The course is unclear."
The environment is moving faster than your planning cycle. AI, workforce transformation, organizational change — you need a decision architecture, not a motivational framework.
"Your influence isn't reaching far enough."
Your team executes when you're watching. You need a trust conduit that works when you're not in the room — and you need a way to measure whether it's working.

"Aviate. Navigate. Communicate."
— Every Army pilot knows this hierarchy. It keeps the crew alive and accomplishes the mission.
AZMTH translates pressure-tested tactical concepts into the language of organizational leadership:
OPERATE
Master the fundamentals. Leadership theory, behavioral science, and the discipline to build the professional credibility your authority demands.

NAVIGATE
Know where you're going. Decision architecture, course corrections, and the contingency thinking that keeps complex organizations on bearing.

COMMUNICATE
Build the relationships that make mission success possible. Repair the trust conduit that amplifies every other capability you have.

ABOUT AZMTH

AZMTH is the work of Michael Harms — a retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer 4, AH-64 Apache pilot, and Doctor of Strategic Leadership. Two decades operating where decisions have consequences. A doctorate in how leaders make those decisions when the stakes are real. An ICF PCC credential and the assessment toolset the work demands — Hogan, EQ-i 2.0, Clifton Strengths, Prosci CCP.
Every engagement is grounded in the proprietary Operate–Navigate–Communicate framework — leadership architecture forged in aviation, refined through doctoral research, and proven with the senior leaders we serve. Defense contractors. Alaska Native Corporations. Strategic organizations where the cost of poor leadership is measured in more than quarterly numbers.
AZMTH is deliberately small. I measure results, not testimonials. And I do not take every client.
